GEZILE OUT ON BAIL
Lusaka — Police have released content creator Gezile Smith Mwale on bond following her arrest in connection with the creation and online distribution of explicit adult content. The 23-year-old was granted bond on July 29, 2026, after spending time in police custody, and is currently awaiting her initial court appearance. Mwale was formally charged under Section 177 of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia, which prohibits the production and circulation of obscene matters. The charges follow an investigation into explicit videos depicting unlawful acts that were widely shared across various social media platforms. Law enforcement officers tracked down and arrested Mwale, while authorities continue to search for potential accomplices involved in the production of the material. Police spokesperson Danny Mwale confirmed that Mwale remains out on bond pending her scheduled appearance before the court, where she will face trial on the charges.
