Hichilema urges youths to anonymously report corruption by using social media, technology
PRESIDENT Hakainde Hakainde has called on the youth to take advantage of social media and technology to anonymously report corrupt practices.
Speaking during a televised launch of the 2024 International Anti Corruption Day, President Hichilema stated that youths need to actively participate in the fight against corruption as they are the future leaders of tomorrow.
He urged them to use social media to demand transparency and accountability from the government.
The Head of State added that government is working at including anti corruption topics in the education curricular from primary through to tertiary level.
He said this will strengthen the role of young people in creating systems of integrity and ensuring sustainable development by addressing the root causes of corruption.
President Hichilema revealed that his government remained commmitted to rooting out corrupt officials.
“Our youth must demand accountability and actively participate in anti corruption efforts, the tech survey youth can for example leverage technologies such as artificial intelligence, online platforms and innovative applications to enhance transparency and facilitate anonymous reporting of corrupt practices.”
“Government is commmitted to combatting corruption by focusing on the youth as the primary agent of change, we remain committed to the values of transparency accountability and good governance,” explained President Hichilema.
