Trident pursues the record held by Mufulira Blackpool.

Trident continues its pursuit of equaling Mufulira Blackpool’s winless record, experiencing their 10th loss of the season in a 2-1 defeat against Zanaco at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka.

In 2016, Mufulira Blackpool endured an entire season without a win, suffering 22 losses and securing 12 draws in 34 matches, ultimately leading to their relegation.

Trident appears determined to match or even surpass that record, currently standing at 10 defeats and an equal number of draws after 20 matches played in the ongoing season.

Heading into the match, Zanaco faced their own struggles, having gone six games without a win. Nevertheless, Charles Zulu opened the scoring in the 20th minute from the penalty spot, with Malawian Chwanangwa Kaonga doubling the advantage in the 60th minute.

Trident managed to secure a consolation goal from veteran striker Graven Chitalu in the 85th minute, but it proved insufficient to salvage anything from the match.
