LUNDAZI WIZARD HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL TRESPASSING
THE 42-year-old man of Lundazi who recently broke into somebody’s house and attempted to eat a baby while behaving like a hyena has been charged with criminal trespass.
Joseph Jere, of Wadokota village, broke into a house and demanded to eat a baby before members of the public apprehended and handed him over to the police.
Eastern Province police commanding officer Robertson Mweemba said Jere was taken to Lundazi District Hospital for examinations after behaving like a hyena, after which he was discharged.
Jere was taken back to the police by medical personnel after examinations on Monday.
“The suspect is still in our custody. He has been charged with criminal trespass,” he said.
Mr Mweemba said Jere will appear in court in Lundazi in the next few days.
He said police were waiting for Jere to sober up before they could formally charge him.
