Kitwe City Council Fire Brigade Swiftly Extinguishes Two Fires
Kitwe, Zambia – The Kitwe City Council Fire Brigade responded swiftly to two separate fire incidents yesterday, successfully extinguishing the blazes and preventing any casualties.
According to a statement issued by Public Relations Officer Kafula Mutale Sinyangwe, the first fire broke out at 13:25 PM along Lilongwe Road in the Light Industrial Area. The fire involved two junk hose front liners belonging to NCT Company and is suspected to have been caused by gas cylinders ignited during cutting operations using a grinding machine.
The second fire occurred I Riverside, Kitwe, near Radio Ichengelo. It involved a ZESCO transformer (CBD 0095), which reportedly caught fire due to an electrical fault.
Thanks to the swift response of the Kitwe City Council Fire Brigade, both fires were brought under control before causing significant damage or harm.
The Kitwe City Council has commended the bravery and professionalism of the firefighters, emphasizing the importance of fire safety and urging residents to remain vigilant in preventing such incidents.
