Soccer administrators Adrian Kashala and Pivoty Simwanza have stepped up to support Under-20 and Zambia Institute of Sustainable Development (ZISD) player Lydia Shamalime, who has been struggling with financial hardships.
Shamalime’s situation gained national attention after a viral video surfaced, showing the young footballer appealing for assistance due to difficult living conditions.
This afternoon, Kashala and Simwanza visited the 17-year-old’s home in Lusaka’s Chainda Compound, where she resides with her grandmother.
An emotional Simwanza was deeply moved by the poor living conditions he witnessed, expressing concern over the struggles the young player faces.
Meanwhile, Kashala, a former FAZ General Secretary, encouraged Shamalime to remain resilient and focused on her football career, assuring her of continued support.
As part of their intervention, Kashala personally donated K10,000, while both administrators pledged further financial assistance to Shamalime and her grandmother.
