Ikechukwu reveals D’Banj only paid him N50,000 for a N1 million show at MoHits Records.

"D'Banj paid me only N50,000 from N1 Million show fees during my time at MoHits Records"- Ikechukwu speaks out

Rapper Ikechukwu has unveiled a startling revelation regarding the compensation he received for each performance during his tenure as a signed artist under MoHits Records.

Nigerian rapper and actor, Ikechukwu Onunaku, has shed light on his time with the renowned MoHits Records label. In a candid moment on an Instagram live session with Daddy Freeze, Ikechukwu disclosed his alleged experience of being unfairly compensated by one of the label’s owners, Dapo Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’banj.

He asserted that despite being contracted for performances for a substantial sum, estimated to range between one to two million naira, and payments being made, he only pocketed a mere 50,000 naira from his fee, which he described as a “favor” in his own words.

Ikechukwu further elaborated that his compensation was eventually raised to N150,000 following a dispute between himself and D’Banj. Additionally, he revealed that the Kokomaster had attributed the increase solely to the final authorization from his mother.

When questioned by Freeze regarding D’Banj’s assertion that the pay raise was due to his mother’s approval, Ikechukwu emphasized that every decision within MoHits was predominantly overseen by D’banj’s mother. This implied that no significant decision was made without her explicit approval, indicating her significant influence within the label.
