Eminem Conveys Message to Former Lions Player Prior to Wild-Card Matchup

Matthew Stafford, who initiated his career with the Detroit Lions, returns to the Motor City to face them, prompting Eminemto share a message.

As an avid Lions enthusiast, Marshall diligently tracks their games, and this season marks a resurgence, bringing joy and optimism to him and other Detroit football aficionados. The team’s commendable performance has propelled them back into the postseason after a seven-year hiatus, hosting their first playoff game in 30 years this weekend.

In a dedicated effort to support his team, Eminem leveraged all available resources to send a message to an opposing player. While Stafford is no unfamiliar face to Lions fans, having spent 12 seasons with the team, making the playoffs three times but falling short of victory in those instances. Stafford was traded to the Rams three years ago, and now he’s back, donning a Rams jersey.

In a post shared by the Sunday Night Football on NBC account, the rapper earnestly implores Stafford to allow the Lions to secure a victory in their first-round game against the Los Angeles Rams quarterback.

Stafford. What’d I say? You owe me this favour, bro. I was there for you when you won it. I was there for you. I was right there. I rapped for you, Stafford. Bro, I rapped for you. Can you just let us have this one? Just this one.

Here, Eminemrefers to his performance during halftime of Super Bowl LVI, when Stafford and the Rams won it all. It is unlikely that Marshall’s plea will move Stafford, but this message will certainly lift the Lions’ spirit. The game kicks off today, on Sunday, January 14, at 8 pm ET on Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.
