Burna boy holds 'I Told Them' pop-up event in Lagos

Burna Boy, the two-time Grammy-nominated artist recently confirmed to perform at the upcoming Grammys, has successfully wrapped up a pop-up event in Lagos, Nigeria.

The ‘I Told Them’ pop-up event took place on January 27, 2024, at Shiro, Lagos, drawing notable figures from the music scene. The event was enriched by the presence of esteemed artists like Ice Prince, Naira Marley, and Seyi Vibez. Noteworthy personalities such as Poco Lee and Yhemo Lee also joined the gathering. The evening was further elevated with a captivating performance by Seyi Vibez, adding a dynamic musical element to the already vibrant atmosphere.

Burna Boy’s parents, both his mom and dad, were present to celebrate with their son, and a heartwarming video surfaced, capturing a brief family meetup before Burna Boy engaged with his fans at the ‘I Told Them‘ pop-up event. The occasion also featured the sale of limited edition magazines associated with the event.

As the first of three children, Burna Boy has two sisters: Ronami Ogulu, a renowned celebrity stylist, and Nissi Ogulu, the founder of Creele Animation. His musical journey is rooted in inspiration from his grandfather, the manager of the legendary Afrobeats icon Fela Kuti, providing the initial spark that led Burna Boy to pursue a career in music.
